Welcome to Hibla

Dear reader,

It is an absolute pleasure to welcome you to our magazine, Hibla as we start our first year of publication. Hibla is led by five female personalities who are deeply interested in the Filipino culture and how it integrates itself into modern industries which is why our pioneer year will showcase the rich fashion culture of the Filipinos and how it has developed through time. These people you will meet as you read along our pages and understand what this overarching matter means for all of us.

This limited, first ever publication serves as an advocacy passion project which allows us to be able to talk about our love for Filipino fashion and how we see it as a potential iconic industry that will shake the whole world with its beauty. We have written words that will hopefully help you realize our vision and our goals for each individual, community and the whole Filipino nation. We encourage you to consider our ideas and give it some thought after skimming through our pages. We hope that together, we can embark on this journey towards creating our own fashion identity and building our sense of unity. Cheers and have a good read!

Yours truly,

Tini Abayan, Editor-in-Cheif

It’s being modernized by people from small businesses to major celebrity designers all over the country. We see it as it’s being widely shared on the Internet, making it truly accessible to this generation.

Lost Identity

It’s amazing to be able to distinguish various fashion styles of each country because then it shows their uniqueness and how they have branded or even associated themselves with a certain style. However, for the longest time, I have been wondering about how Filipinos set themselves apart from all the trendy styles seen nowadays.
